Shopping At Walmart With Visa and Mastercard Gift Cards

Shopping At Walmart With Visa and Mastercard

Walmart accepts all valid Visa and Mastercard credit, debit, and gift cards. Anytime you shop in person at a Walmart location or online on Walmart.com, you can use your Visa or Mastercard gift card as your preferred payment method at checkout.

If your Visa or Mastercard gift card is not working at Walmart, this could be because you have an insufficient balance. You should also check to make sure your gift card has not expired and that it has not been damaged in a way that might interfere with the processing of payment. For example, make sure the magnetic strip and/or chip are not scratched, dented, or otherwise damaged.

How Do Visa / Mastercard Gift Cards Work?

Unlike traditional brand-specific gift cards, Visa and Mastercard gift cards work like prepaid debit cards.

Each card is preloaded with a designated amount of money. Then, that card can be used to pay for purchases at any store or business that accepts Visa and Mastercard.

Visa and Mastercard gift cards work the same way, and there are no major differences between the two. However, Visa and Mastercard are separate companies, so the recipient of your gift card might have a preference between the two. However, the way they use their card and the retailers that will accept these cards as payment do not differ.

Both Visa and Mastercard gift cards can be reloaded when the balance runs empty. However, if you purchase a prepaid Walmart Visa gift card, you will not be able to reload it.

How Much Are Gift Cards At Walmart?

Visa gift cards sold at Walmart are available in the following denominations–$25, $50, $100, and $200.

Mastercard gift cards sold at Walmart are available in these denominations–$15, $20, $25, $50, $100, and $200.

If you purchase a Walmart gift card that is not a Visa or Mastercard gift, these can range in value from $10 to $1000.

How To Pay With A Gift Card

Paying with a Visa or Mastercard gift card is as simple as paying with a standard debit or credit card.

Simply proceed with checkout as you usually would, whether you’re shopping in person or online. Then, when it’s time to provide your desired payment method, simply swipe or insert your gift card into the card reader or enter your card information when shopping online.

If your card is valid and has a sufficient balance, your transaction will be processed the same way as a debit or credit card transaction.

If you have any issues paying with your Visa or Mastercard gift card, try calling the customer service number listed on the back of your card for assistance.
