Thankfully, getting tires installed at Walmart is a pretty simple process.
If you purchase your tires on Walmart.com, all you have to do is have them shipped to your closest Walmart Auto Care Center, schedule an installation appointment, arrive for your appointment time. After that, all you have to do is drive away with your brand new tires.
Even if you don’t purchase your tires from Walmart, you will still be able to have them installed at any Walmart Auto Care Center. Walmart charges customers the same price for tire installation regardless of where the tires were purchased.
Walmart Auto Care Center charges between $15 and $25 per tire for basic mounting. This price applies to all tires whether they were purchased at Walmart or from another retailer.
It’s important to note that not all information regarding this question is consistent across Walmart’s website. If you visit the Walmart Auto Care Center services page, you would be led to believe that tire installation only costs $11 per tire. However, if you purchase tires through the Walmart app, then you will be told that tire installation costs between $15 and $25. To be safe, we’ve opted to assume that the higher price is more recent.
Tire installation shouldn’t take more than an hour once the process has begun. However, depending on how busy the Auto Care Center is when you arrive, you might have to wait.
The best way to ensure that you won’t have to wait longer than necessary is to make an appointment. Keep reading to find out how!
How To Schedule an Appointment?
In 2021, Walmart introduced a convenient new tool for scheduling tire installation appointments online.
Now, when you purchase tires from Walmart online via Walmart.com or through the Walmart app, you can schedule your tire installation appointment in just a few simple clicks during your checkout process.
Here’s an example of what you will see when scheduling an appointment through the Walmart app:
When shopping for tires on Walmart.com, you will be presented with an almost-identical screen during your checkout process. Make sure to click “Schedule tire installation” and choose a time that works for you from the available dates.
If you didn’t purchase your tires on Walmart.com or if you already have your tires in your possession, you won’t have this option for scheduling your appointment.
To book an appointment at a Walmart Auto Care Center the old-fashioned way, follow these steps:
- Locate your nearest Walmart Auto Care Center using this store finder tool
- When you find the store location you’d like to visit, click “details”
- From here, you will be able to see whether “Auto Care Center” is listed under the services available at that store. You will also be able to see the store’s hours of operation.
- Call the phone number listed and follow the prompts to speak to the Auto Care Center
- Request an appointment
Walmart Auto Care Centers typically accept walk-ins as well. However, availability for walk-in appointments will vary depending on how busy the technicians are at the time.
It’s important to note that while many Walmart locations are open until 11pm or later, most Auto Care Centers close around 6pm.
