Walmart2Walmart – Transfer Money Anywhere In The US For Under $5

Walmart2Walmart is a fast and simple way to send money to any Walmart or Bodega Aurrera location in the US, Puerto Rico, or Mexico. Transaction fees start at just $2.50, which is quite low when compared to other money transfer services.

According to Walmart.com, Walmart2Walmart transfers can be completed and ready for pickup in as few as 10 minutes.

Unfortunately, Walmart2Walmart does not offer online services and can only be initiated in person at a Walmart location. Transfers must also be picked up in person at the Walmart location where they are sent.

To initiate an online money transfer through Walmart, you will need to use MoneyGram, which you can access here.

Transaction Limits & Fees

As of March 2023, Walmart unfortunately does not publicize their Walmart2Walmart transfer limits on their website. However, according to all of the other sources we checked, Walmart limits daily transfers to $2,500 through Walmart2Walmart.

Although Walmart advertises their Walmart2Walmart transfer fees as $2.50, this only applies to transfers up to $500. For transfer amounts of more than $500, you will be charged a higher (unspecified) fee.

Variable foreign exchange rates apply when transferring money to or from Puerto Rico or Mexico.

How To Use?

Initiating a Walmart2Walmart money transfer is as simple as arriving at any Walmart retail location with your cash or other preferred payment method in hand. Cash, debit, or credit are all considered valid payment methods when initiating a Walmart2Walmart transfer.

When you arrive at Walmart, find the customer service desk or the Walmart Money Center to initiate your transfer. Let an associate there know that you would like to initiate a Walmart2Walmart money transfer. They will ask you how much you would like to transfer and where you would like it sent. They will also ask for you to provide your ID and payment method.

Once your transfer is set, you will be charged a small transaction fee and receive a receipt featuring a link to a webpage where you can track your transfer. However, as stated above, your money will likely have arrived at its destination before you’ve even left the store.

Tracking Your Transfer

Once you initiate a Walmart2Walmart transfer, you will receive a receipt with information on how to track it.

Look for a URL on your receipt directing you to a RiaMoneyTransfer.com address. Through Ria online, you will be able to track your transaction from the time you initiated it until it’s picked up.

Remember that Walmart2Walmart transfers typically only take about 10 minutes, so you shouldn’t need your tracking information in most cases. However, if something goes wrong with your transfer, having your tracking information is an important way to seek recourse and find out what went wrong.

If you would like to cancel your Walmart2Walmart transfer, you can do so by speaking with an associate at the Walmart location where you initiated your transfer. However, if your money transfer has already been picked up, it can no longer be canceled.

Benefits

The main benefit to using Walmart2Walmart instead of some of the other money transfer services offered at Walmart is that the transaction fees are particularly low.

When transferring amounts up to $500, you will only ever pay $2.50 for the transfer, which is a competitive price when compared to other services. Walmart2Walmart is also extremely fast, meaning that you can get your funds in the right hands in as little as 10 minutes.

The only real downside to using Walmart2Walmart is that you can only transfer money between Walmart locations, and you must initiate your transfer in person. Whoever you are transferring money to must also pick up their transfer in person.

How To Pick Up A Walmart2Walmart Transfer

To pick up a Walmart2Walmart money transfer, you will first need to find out which Walmart location your money was transferred to.

Next, visit that location and speak to anyone at the customer service desk or Walmart Money Center. They will ask for a piece of valid identification to verify who you are before giving you your funds. If you cannot provide a valid ID, you will not be able to access your transfer funds.

Once you verify your identity, you will receive your funds in the form of cash.
