Is it safe to refill CO2 tanks by yourself?
Yes. However, you should be comfortable using varying sizes of CO2 tanks and an air compressor. CO2 tanks are highly pressurized and should not be filled or tampered with by anyone who is not comfortable and familiar with the task.
How do you know how much is left in your CO2 tank?
Some CO2 tanks are equipped with a gauge that should be able to approximate the level of your CO2. However, not all tanks have gauges, and not all gauges are completely accurate. You can sometimes approximate the level of your tank by lifting and/or weighing it and comparing that weight to the tare weight (which should be printed somewhere on the tank).
