Trader Joe’s Recalls Popular Salad Due to Allergen Risk—What You Need to Know

Trader Joe’s has just announced a recall of its Sesame Miso Salad with Salmon after discovering a serious labeling issue that could pose health risks to consumers with dairy allergies.

What Happened?

According to the FDA and Trader Joe’s, approximately 500 units of the ready-to-eat salad were mistakenly packaged with a sealed packet of parmesan cheese crumbles instead of the intended crispy onion topping. As a result, the salads contain an undeclared milk allergen, which could trigger severe allergic reactions—such as anaphylaxis—in individuals with dairy sensitivities.
