If you’re in the market for a new mattress, figuring out what your best options are can be tricky. And it doesn’t help that companies like Costco make it next to impossible to find reliable information online about what to expect from their delivery and installation services.
Here, we will go over all of the important details you’ll need to know about having a Costco mattress delivered to your home.
How Does Costco Deliver Mattresses?
There are two main ways Costco delivers their mattresses–through standard shipping services like UPS Ground or FedEx Ground, or with white glove delivery through private delivery agents.
How your Costco mattress is delivered will depend on the brand of mattress you purchase and where you live.
But the nuances don’t end there…
Some mattresses sold on Costco.com include delivery, installation, and haul away, while others only include delivery. The best way to find out what your mattress delivery will include is by referencing the “Shipping & Returns” tab on the product description page for your mattress on Costco.com. There, you can read about exactly how the delivery process will work for your specific mattress.
Most name-brand mattresses sold on Costco.com (including Ghostbed and Casper) are delivered by either FedEx Ground or UPS Ground. Shipping and delivery of these mattresses does not include setup and installation in most cases, although old mattress haul away is sometimes available depending on where you live.
For example, here are the delivery details for a Casper mattress sold through Costco.com…
As you can see, this delivery type does not include set up, and it also does not always include haul away.
Other mattress brands sold on Costco.com offer a more hands-on delivery approach…
For example, when you order a Kirkland Signature mattress through Costco.com, you can qualify for room-of-choice delivery and setup, also known as white glove delivery. This includes removal of product packaging and haul away of your old mattress. This delivery service applies to addresses located within 50 miles of any Costco Warehouse location.
Other brands, such as Tempur-Pedic, also offer white glove delivery through Costco. However, other aspects of the delivery service differ…
Tempur-Pedic mattresses ordered through Costco.com typically take between two and four weeks to deliver from the time of your order (as opposed to 3-7 days for most Kirkland Signature mattresses). Shipping is handled via a third-party delivery agent who can set the mattress up on an existing bed frame in your room. The bed frame must be clear of any existing mattresses prior to delivery, and the delivery worker will not haul away your old mattress.
California residents do not qualify for mattress haul away services performed by delivery workers regardless of which brand of mattress you purchase. If you live in California and need to have an old mattress hauled away, call 1-800-955-2292.
How long it takes to receive your mattress from Costco will vary based on which brand of mattress you purchase.
Some Costo mattresses can be delivered within just three days while other mattress brands, such as Tempur-Pedic, ask customers to allow 2-4 weeks for delivery.

What Is Costco’s White Glove Delivery?
White glove delivery is Costco’s most involved delivery service. It involves having your product delivered by a dedicated delivery agent hired directly by Costco who will bring your mattress inside of your home, move it into the room where it belongs, and set it up for you. The delivery agent will also remove packaging materials, and in some cases, they will haul away your old mattress.
Theoretically, white glove delivery agents are supposed to leave your space clean and tidy after the delivery is complete.
When you view a mattress on Costco.com, you can scroll down to see the product’s “Specifications.” From there, you will see a category labeled “Delivery Type” midway down the page. If your mattress qualifies for white glove delivery, you will see that listed.
For example, here are the specifications for a Sealy Posturepedic mattress currently available on Costco.com…
The other delivery type you might see listed under specifications is “UPS/FedEx.”
In the case of mattresses sold on Costco.com, white glove delivery is included in the cost of your purchase.
How To Schedule Your Mattress Delivery
Scheduling your Costco mattress delivery is as easy as ordering your mattress on Costco.com.
Simply visit Costco.com and begin browsing mattresses.
When you find the mattress you’d like to purchase, click “Add to Cart.”
To finish the checkout process, click “View Cart.”
In your cart, you will be able to see your item’s delivery type listed to the right of your item. This will either say “Standard,” which means that your mattress will be delivered in a box by FedEx or UPS. Or it will say “Delivery and Setup,” meaning that you will receive white glove delivery.
Proceed with the checkout process by selecting the green “Checkout” button on the right side of the page.
If your mattress is being shipped with standard shipping, you can complete the checkout as you normally would and you will be provided with an estimated arrival date. Because your delivery does not involve set up or in-home delivery, you do not need to arrange to be present at the time of delivery unless you choose to.
If your mattress is being delivered with white glove delivery, you will be asked to provide a phone number with your shipping information.
After you complete your order, you will receive a call from the delivery company to set up a time to deliver your mattress. Allow for up to two weeks to receive this call.
You must arrange to be home during the delivery, as a signature is required. You must also arrange to have your bed frame cleared off prior to delivery. In some cases, haul away is included with white glove delivery, but this is not always the case. Please reference the delivery details for your product to be sure of your product’s delivery information (you can view these details by clicking “Delivery Details” underneath your product’s delivery method in your shopping cart).
Costco’s Mattress Return And Exchange Policy
Costco mattresses can be returned or exchanged anytime through Costco.com or at any Costco Warehouse location. There are no official limits on the timeframe you have to request a refund or exchange for your mattress.
Keep in mind that mattresses sold through Costco also come with manufacturer warranties that will cover you for a replacement during your warranty period. Warranties vary by manufacturer and can range anywhere from ten years to twenty years.

For mattresses, yes. Also, with Costco grocery delivery, members can receive free delivery by spending $75 or more. However, standard shipping fees for non-grocery items are calculated per individual item. To view the shipping fees for the items you wish to purchase, see each product’s description on Costco.com.
