Other Places to Get your Brakes Services

If your vehicle’s brakes are in need of service or replacement, there are plenty of places you can go to have these services done.

The following popular business offer brake service and/or replacement in 2022:

  • Jiffy Lube
  • Midas
  • Pep Boys
  • Firestone
  • Big O Tires
  • Your local mechanic

Brake Replacement Costs

According to Jiffy Lube, “a complete brake repair that includes pads, rotors, and calipers typically averages between $200 and $800.”

Labor alone can range from $90 to $200 per hour, while the price can also be impacted by whether or not you’re having your rotors replaced.

Jiffy Lube also suggests that “calipers are typically the most difficult and expensive aspect of the braking system to service, [and] a single caliper can cost up to $130.”

The factors that will impact the overall price of your brake replacement include:

  • The size and type of vehicle (and number of tires)
  • Whether or not your rotors need to be replaced
  • The type of brake pad your vehicle requires
  • The hourly labor cost charged at the shop you visit

Appointment Scheduling

If you would like to schedule an appointment at any of the shops mentioned above, you can either do so online through the company’s website or by calling the number for your local shop and requesting an appointment.

Some shops allow walk-ins, while some do not. To guarantee you’ll be able to have your brakes serviced when you need it, be sure to schedule an appointment ahead of time.

But if you find yourself in a pinch, you can always try arriving at a shop without an appointment, and they’ll try to fit you in if they can.
