Aldi Funds Boy’s Food Pantry Shopping Spree After Viral Post

A viral post in our Aldi Aisle of Shame Community quadrupled this generous boy’s food pantry donation budget!

Mom Abbie Schmitt posted this picture of her 7-year-old son, with the following caption:

I’m so beyond proud of my son! He raised $115 for his school pantry drive and spent every last dime at Aldi! He is barely 7 and has a huge heart ❤️ He loved cruising the aisles and grabbing all sorts of food and supplies for people in need.

Abbie’s post was seen by more than 135,000 people, and was shared, liked and commented on thousands of times.

And Aldi took notice! A company representative reached out to the family, and added a $500 gift card to the young philanthropist’s efforts.

The Schmitt’s even made the local news.

Aldi people are the best people!
