Read This Before Buying A Waterpik Sonic Fusion at Costco

Waterpik has been around for over 60 years, earning themselves a great reputation as a supplier of oral irrigators. In fact, Waterpik was the first company to ever manufacture and sell these products, all the way back in 1962.

But is a Waterpik really worth it? Let’s find out…

Waterpik Products at Costco

The Waterpik Sonic Fusion 2.0 has gained tons of popularity in recent years as a combination water flosser and sonic toothbrush. But Costco actually sells five different Waterpik products. So, it’s worth checking out their whole inventory before deciding which product is best for you.

On Costco.com, you can find…

Choosing The Right Waterpik

With so many options to choose from, you might be wondering how to decide which Waterpik to buy.

The main thing to consider is whether you want your Waterpik to replace your entire tooth care routine or just the flossing part. Waterpik devices were originally designed to replace flossing by sending a stream of water between your teeth to remove plaque and debris. However, in recent years, Waterpik has released a line of devices that combine sonic toothbrush technology with Waterpik flossing technology to create a one-step tooth care routine.

If you want to simplify your tooth care routine as much as possible, I recommend checking out  the Waterpik Sonic Fusion 2.0 flossing toothbrush at Costco. This device is currently the only model available at the wholesaler which combines brushing and flossing into a one-step tool.

Waterpik Sonic Fusion 2.0 Flossing Toothbrush

The Waterpik Sonic Fusion 2.0 flossing toothbrush is a cutting edge alternative to a typical two-step tooth care routine.

This high-tech flossing toothbrush sprays a narrow stream of water through the spaces between your teeth while also functioning like an electric toothbrush to remove plaque and debris as you brush.

You can find the Waterpik Sonic Fusion 2.0 on Costco.com here for $159.99. The product holds an impressive 4.6-star average customer rating from over 2000 reviews.

Product Features

The Sonic Fusion 2.0 includes the following features…

  • 3 operating modes–brush, floss, and brush + floss
  • 2-minute timer with 30-second pacer
  • 2 toothbrush speeds
  • 8 replaceable brush heads
  • Traveling case
  • Quiet operation
  • 2x the brush speed of the original Sonic Fusion

Despite the product listing being a little unclear on this point, this is not a cordless device. The device must be plugged into a wall outlet to function properly, and the brush handle is also attached to the water tank by a separate tube.

If you’re looking for a cordless Waterpik, check out the Cordless Select Water Flosser or Cordless Pearl Water Flosser listed above (both available at Costco).

Price at Costco

As of April 2023, the Waterpik Sonic Fusion 2.0 is currently priced at $159.99 online and $149.99 in stores when you shop at Costco.

Online, the Sonic Fusion 2.0 had previously gone on sale for $129.99. However, the price has since returned to $159.99.

In late 2021, the Sonic Fusion 2.0 went on sale for just $119.99 at Costco Warehouse locations, as reported by Frugal Hotspot. However, it’s unclear when Costco will lower the price of these popular devices next, so keep your eye out for deals!

Waterpik Sonic Fusion 2.0 vs Similar Products

The device the Waterpik Sonic Fusion 2.0 is most often compared to is the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean.

However, it’s important to note that the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean is not a water flosser. As far as we can tell, Waterpik is currently the only company that produces a truly one-step tooth brushing and flossing device.

However, since these devices get compared so often, we will still look at the pros and cons of each below…

This article is published on Waterpik.com, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. That said, it claims that the Waterpik Sonic Fusion is “significantly more effective” than the Sonicare DiamondClean.

However, according to this independent review on Slant.com, the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean comes out on top. That said, it also comes at a much higher price tag (around $250).

Some of the exclusive features included with the Sonicare DiamondClean include…

  • Specialized brush heads for plaque removal, gum health, whitening, and tongue care
  • Personalized mouth and teeth data provided by the Philips Sonicare app
  • Brush heads autoselect ideal settings
  • 5 brush modes (Clean, White+, Deep Clean+, Gum Health, Tongue Care)
  • 3 intensity settings
  • Stylish charging glass
  • Cordless and rechargeable

The main benefits of choosing the Sonicare DiamondClean over the Waterpik Sonic Fusion are that the Sonicare device has more setting options and more options for personalized care. Plus, it’s cordless and rechargeable, making it much more convenient for travel.

However, the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean cannot replace flossing or water flossing. So, the Waterpik Sonic Fusion 2.0 still wins out as the only truly one-step brushing and flossing device.

If you’re more concerned about simplifying your tooth care routine and less concerned about having a ton of fancy setting options, then the Waterpik is probably the best option for you.
