As with most things, Costco offers a wide variety of dumplings, including potstickers, wontons, gyoza, and mandu.

As of June 2022, Bibigo Steamed Chicken & Vegetable Dumplings are available for $13.79 for a 36-count box. That’s less than 40 cents per dumpling!

Dumplings are almost always made of a mixture of either meat or vegetables (or both) wrapped in a tender dough, then steamed or fried.

What Brands Of Dumplings Does Costco Sell?

At my local Costco Warehouse, the only type of dumpling currently available is Bibigo’s Steamed Chicken & Vegetable Dumplings.

You can find boxes of these steamed chicken and vegetable dumplings in the frozen foods aisle. These dumplings are based on Korean-style dumplings and are filled with chicken, cabbage, onions, and mushrooms, wrapped in a tender dough.

However, at other Costco locations, you might find Summ! brand Sesame Ginger Chicken Gyoza Dumplings or Synear Soup Dumplings. You can also find Bibigo Beef Bulgogi Mandu online through Costco.com (mandu means dumpling).

Potstickers and wontons can also be considered dumplings, and Costco offers a few options here, too. Some locations carry Bibigo Chicken & Cilantro Wontons (also available online through Costco.com), Bibigo Mini Wontons, Bibigo Savory Potstickers, Siwin Chicken Potstickers, and Ling Ling Chicken & Vegetable Potstickers.

What Is In Costco Dumplings?

Here, we’ll focus on the Bibigo Steamed Chicken & Vegetable Dumplings, since they seem to be the most common dumpling variety available at Costco.

As you can see from the image below, there are separate ingredients lists for the dumplings and the dipping sauce.

If you have food allergies, then you’ll want to know right away that these dumplings contain wheat and soy. But this is standard for Asian-inspired dumplings, so other products aren’t likely to be much different.

These dumplings also contain a few other not-so-traditional ingredients like sugar, gelatin, and flavoring.

As for the dipping sauce, it’s primarily made of soy sauce, but it also contains sugar and flavoring. This doesn’t come as much of a surprise, though, as most commercial dipping sauces and dressings do as well.

Overall, there aren’t any majorly spooky ingredients in these Bibigo Steamed Dumplings. Keep reading to find out how the nutrition measures up.

Costco Dumplings Nutrition Facts

Costco Dumplings Nutrition Facts

The first thing to note about these nutrition facts is that 1 serving of Bibigo Steamed Dumplings is made up of 6 dumplings.

But you should also keep in mind that this doesn’t include the dipping sauce. So, for the info below, we will show you the combined nutrition information for 6 dumplings plus 1 packet of dipping sauce.

Each serving of these dumplings (dipping sauce included) has 275 calories, 7 grams of fat, 35 mg of cholesterol, 940 mg of sodium, 40 grams of carbohydrates, 2 grams of fiber, 6 grams of sugar, and 16 grams of protein.

The big things that stand out to me about this are the sodium content (yikes!) and the fact that there’s more sugar than fiber.

940 mg of sodium is only a little less than half of the maximum amount of sodium considered safe to eat in a single day. So, if you plan on eating a full serving of these dumplings, be sure to watch your sodium intake at your other meals.

As far as the sugar content goes, nutritionists generally recommend to look for foods that have at least as much fiber as sugar. This is because fiber helps the body metabolize sugar, preventing blood sugar spikes which can lead to insulin instability and diabetes.

Overall, I wouldn’t call these Bibigo Steamed Dumplings a health food, even though they’re made with fairly simple ingredients.

How To Cook Costco Dumplings

The simplest way to prepare Costco’s Bibigo Steamed Dumplings is by heating them in the microwave.

Just follow these simple steps!

  1. Remove 1 tray of dumplings from the box (the tray will be wrapped in a plastic pouch)
  2. Cut one corner of the pouch to allow steam to escape while heating
  3. Place sauce packet in a bowl of warm water to thaw
  4. Place the tray of dumplings in the microwave and heat on high for 2 minutes
  5. Remove and let cool for about 1 minute
  6. Once heated, carefully remove the tray from the microwave and open the bag (be cautious as the steam in the bag will be hot)
  7. Remove the tray from the bag
  8. Add dipping sauce and serve!

If you’d like to prepare your dumplings without using the microwave, there are plenty of other options.

Pan frying is a great way to prepare dumplings, as it gives them a slightly crispy exterior. Try this recipe from Bibigo for Pan-Fried Steamed Dumplings with Spicy Garlic Ginger Sauce.

Final Thoughts

Costco offers a wide variety of Asian cuisine-inspired dumplings, both in stores and online. Supplies vary by location, and Bibigo is the primary dumpling brand carried by Costco. Bibigo’s Steamed Chicken & Vegetable Dumplings are made with fairly straightforward ingredients. However, they do contain a significant amount of sodium that might be of concern to some shoppers. But as long as you’re not eating these every day or at every meal, they’re great for an occasional snack.
