Cooking Instruction

The most common way to prepare these chicken melts is in the microwave. However, many Costco shoppers have noted that they’re actually much tastier if you make them in a toaster oven, panini press, or air fryer. This is because microwaving anything that contains bread can result in a chewy, soggy texture rather than the crispness you want from a hot sandwich.

According to the box, you can heat up one chicken melt sandwich in the microwave on high for just one minute. Before heating, wrap the sandwich in a paper towel and place it on a microwave-safe plate with the cheese side up.

If you want to heat more than one chicken melt at a time, add 30 seconds to the cook time per sandwich. According to the box, you shouldn’t attempt to heat more than two chicken melts in the microwave at a time.

You can also try popping these into the toaster oven for a crispier result. Preheat your toaster oven to 350°F and wrap your chicken melt tightly in some aluminum foil. Once preheated, let your chicken melt cook for about 15 minutes in the foil wrapping. To make sure the bread doesn’t get too soggy, try removing the foil about two minutes before the cook time is up.
