8 Trader Joe’s Copycat You Can Buy at ALDI—I Love Them Better

Trader Joe’s has built a loyal following around products like Unexpected Cheddar, Mandarin Orange Chicken and those dangerously snackable peanut butter pretzels. But you don’t necessarily need a Trader Joe’s nearby to get something surprisingly similar.

ALDI has quietly filled its shelves and freezer cases with products that hit many of the same notes—and a few have developed fan bases of their own.

I went past the usual recycled “ALDI dupe” lists and looked at recent shopper discussions, reviews and current ALDI listings. These are the eight comparisons that held up best.

Prices and availability were checked against ALDI’s website in late September 2026. Prices can vary by location, and ALDI Finds can disappear quickly.

1. Emporium Selection Cheddar Parmesan Cheese

ALDI Price: $3.95 for 7 ounces
Trader Joe’s Match: Unexpected Cheddar

If Unexpected Cheddar is one of the reasons you make a Trader Joe’s run, this is the ALDI product I’d look for first.

Emporium Selection Cheddar Parmesan starts out like a sharp aged cheddar, then brings in that nutty, salty Parmesan flavor and slightly crumbly texture that makes Unexpected Cheddar so distinctive.

And this isn’t just one of those comparisons invented for a listicle. ALDI shoppers make the connection themselves. Recent customer discussions have compared it directly with Trader Joe’s Unexpected Cheddar, and in a September ALDI favorites thread, shoppers were still calling out the Cheddar Parmesan when asked which cheeses were worth buying. Recent customer-based cheese coverage also describes it as a go-to ALDI block for shoppers who like stronger, nuttier cheeses.

Trader Joe’s Unexpected Cheddar remains one of the chain’s signature cheeses—the company was still highlighting its popularity in September 2026.

ALDI’s version is currently $3.95 for the same 7-ounce package size.

Why it’s worth grabbing: This might be the closest thing on the list to a true swap. Slice it for a cheese board, crumble it over eggs or burgers, or just eat a piece straight from the refrigerator.

2. Fusia Asian Inspirations Mandarin Orange Chicken

ALDI Price: $7.99 for 26 ounces
Trader Joe’s Match: Mandarin Orange Chicken

This is probably the most obvious showdown.

Trader Joe’s Mandarin Orange Chicken has been a freezer-section staple for years, but ALDI’s Fusia version has built a following of its own.

The formula is familiar: breaded chicken pieces plus a sweet, sticky orange sauce. The trick, according to ALDI shoppers, is skipping the soft oven texture and getting the chicken properly crisp before adding the sauce.

One shopper who tried it in May gave the orange chicken an 8 out of 10 after air frying it, specifically calling out how crispy the chicken became. Another commenter said they keep ALDI’s Asian freezer items around for nights when driving to their Chinese restaurant feels like too much trouble.

That matters because the sauce can only do so much. If you pour it over soft chicken, this feels like freezer food. Get the coating crisp first and it starts scratching the same takeout-night itch that made Trader Joe’s version famous.

ALDI currently lists the 26-ounce bag for $7.99.

Make it better: Air fry the chicken first, warm the sauce separately and toss everything together right before eating. Add scallions and sesame seeds if you have them.

3. Stonemill Everything Bagel Seasoning

ALDI Price: $1.99 for 2.3 ounces
Trader Joe’s Match: Everything But the Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend

Trader Joe’s may have helped turn everything-bagel seasoning into a pantry obsession, but ALDI’s version makes a pretty convincing case for spending less.

The blend has the familiar sesame, garlic, onion and salt combination, and recent shopper feedback has been especially good.

In a September ALDI discussion, one shopper called the seasoning “amazing” and praised the noticeable garlic and onion flavor. Other shoppers chimed in with the ways they use it: avocado, toast, bagels and baked potatoes. One person specifically liked that it had just enough salt.

That last part is important. Everything seasoning can turn into a salt bomb fast, and shoppers often complain when a blend tastes mostly like salt with a few sesame seeds thrown in.

ALDI currently lists its original Stonemill blend at $1.99.

Why I like this swap: There’s no complicated cooking involved and very little risk. If Everything But the Bagel is already sitting in your spice cabinet, this is an easy ALDI version to try when it runs out.

4. Fusia Asian Inspirations Savory Pork Potstickers

ALDI Price: $4.39 for 16 ounces
Trader Joe’s Match: Pork Gyoza Potstickers

These may be the sleeper pick of the entire list.

ALDI’s pork potstickers have been getting the kind of comments you actually want to see before buying a frozen dumpling.

In May, one shopper said they “legitimately taste like takeout dumplings” after pan-frying them straight from frozen.

Then another discussion popped up in August. Shoppers called them delicious, described them as an easy meal with rice and crispy seaweed, and—most importantly—several said they buy them repeatedly.

Repeat-buy comments carry more weight with me than someone saying something was “good” after one bite.

The best preparation also seems pretty clear: steam or pan-fry them rather than microwaving. You want the filling hot while still getting a little color and texture on the wrapper.

ALDI currently lists the 16-ounce package at $4.39.

Easy dinner idea: Make a quick dipping sauce with soy sauce, a splash of vinegar and a little toasted sesame oil, then serve the potstickers with rice. Dinner is basically done.

5. Clancy’s Peanut Butter Filled Pretzels

ALDI Price: $5.19 for 24 ounces
Trader Joe’s Match: Peanut Butter Filled Pretzel Nuggets

There isn’t much to reinvent here—and that’s exactly why this comparison works.

Crunchy salty pretzel outside. Peanut butter inside. Keep reaching into the bag until you suddenly realize half of it is gone.

Trader Joe’s peanut butter pretzels have been popular enough to land in the company’s Customer Choice Hall of Fame.

But ALDI’s version has its own fans. In an April discussion comparing peanut butter-filled pretzel brands, one shopper specifically jumped in to say the ones from ALDI are “very good.”

Another ALDI snack thread earlier this year included the peanut butter-filled pretzels among shoppers’ favorite pickups.

The biggest ALDI advantage is the bag size. The current Clancy’s package is a hefty 24 ounces for $5.19, and ALDI currently shows it available for purchase.

Worth knowing: This isn’t one where everyone agrees ALDI beats Trader Joe’s. Peanut butter pretzel people have strong opinions. But if you already buy the Trader Joe’s version, the ALDI bag is absolutely worth a side-by-side test.

6. Appetitos Mac & Cheese Bites

ALDI Price: $3.19 for 8 ounces
Trader Joe’s Match: Mac and Cheese Bites

Trader Joe’s has sold its breaded Mac and Cheese Bites for years, with a multi-cheese filling tucked inside a crispy coating.

ALDI’s Appetitos version follows the same comfort-food formula at $3.19 for an 8-ounce box.

Shopper feedback here is more mixed than it is for the potstickers or cheddar—and I actually think that’s worth knowing before you buy them.

Recent ALDI snack coverage has named the Mac & Cheese Bites a favorite for tossing in the air fryer for movie night, while other taste testers have found the flavor a little mild.

The common thread is the cooking method: get them crispy.

A soft breaded shell around soft macaroni doesn’t do these any favors. The air fryer gives you the contrast they need—crunchy outside, creamy pasta inside.

Best for: Kids, game day, movie night or those evenings when dinner somehow becomes a plate of appetizers.

I wouldn’t call these a slam-dunk replacement for Trader Joe’s, but at this price they’re an easy experiment.

7. Journey To India Vegetable Samosas

ALDI Price: $4.49
Trader Joe’s Match: Mini Vegetable Samosas

This one comes with an important warning: grab them when you see them.

Unlike several products on this list, ALDI’s Journey To India Vegetable Samosas are an ALDI Find rather than something I’d count on seeing every week. ALDI’s current Finds lineup has them listed again at $4.49.

The Trader Joe’s comparison is easy to see. TJ’s Mini Vegetable Samosas are bite-size pastries filled with potatoes, carrots, peas, lentils, onion and Indian spices.

ALDI goes after essentially the same quick-appetizer craving and includes tamarind dipping sauce.

The encouraging part is that people seem to genuinely look forward to their return. Recent 2026 coverage notes that fans like the vegetable-heavy filling, spice level, crispy exterior and included tamarind sauce.

Earlier shopper discussions also include people wishing ALDI would simply make the samosas permanent instead of making them hunt for the next release.

How I’d serve them: Air fryer, tamarind sauce on the side and maybe a little yogurt sauce. They’re also an easy side for ALDI’s butter chicken or tikka masala.

8. Park Street Deli Chocolate Chip Cannoli Dip

ALDI Price: $3.29 for 10 ounces
Trader Joe’s Match: Cannoli Dip

This may actually be the most interesting product on the list because ALDI currently has something Trader Joe’s fans have been missing.

Trader Joe’s shoppers reported earlier this year that the chain’s Cannoli Dip had been discontinued. There doesn’t appear to be a current product listing on Trader Joe’s site, although Trader Joe’s hasn’t issued a formal discontinuation announcement that I could find.

Meanwhile, ALDI still lists its Park Street Deli Chocolate Chip Cannoli Dip for $3.29.

And ALDI shoppers are not exactly quiet about it.

A March discussion started with someone saying they were “hooked” after trying the dip with cinnamon graham crackers. Others admitted it was dangerously easy to eat straight from the container or with pretzels.

A May ALDI dip discussion again singled out the cannoli dip as a favorite.

There are dissenters—some shoppers find it too sweet or don’t think it tastes enough like traditional cannoli filling—but that almost makes the hype more believable.

Best pairing: Cinnamon graham crackers, waffle crisps, strawberries or mini pretzels.

And yes, apparently a spoon also works.

The Bottom Line

Not every Trader Joe’s favorite has a convincing ALDI counterpart. Plenty of “dupe” lists stretch the comparison just because two products happen to be the same flavor.

These eight are different.

The Cheddar Parmesan, Mandarin Orange Chicken, Everything Bagel Seasoning and Pork Potstickers are the four I’d start with if you want the closest Trader Joe’s-style experience.

The Cannoli Dip is especially worth knowing about now that Trader Joe’s version appears to have disappeared, while the Vegetable Samosas are a grab-them-when-you-see-them ALDI Find.

And the Peanut Butter Pretzels?

You may want to conduct your own side-by-side taste test.

Just don’t open both bags unless you’re prepared to finish them.
